Sitting on top of the world
The medical bills, weight loss were signs something was not right.
A new beginning
Being able to have an open mind and empathize with those who live with the disease without stigma or judgment is what being human is all about. Towards the end of the experience, my life that was on a straight line, took a slight detour during that period. We have been lucky, fortunate, and came out from the other side due to the support of so many individuals and organizations that embrace and accept one person into their care in this city.
Many thanks goes out to Prof. David McIntosh for providing resources to help me dwell deeper into queer studies and resources related to HIV. To my partner’s nephew and his bf of 8 years who are here in Toronto. Their support over the years in taking turns between hospital visits helped tremendously. Also, for participating in Q&A for this project and providing their voices.Also to my partner for being strong and patient in those trying times.
