Decisions

Life is a near death experience

At the Gate

in the winter of 2019, The sickness overtook us and decision was made for him to go back to Mexico to save himself on the medical costs of what we assumed was a bad case of bronchitis. It was heart breaking so we headed to the airport for a midnight flight. I was to accompany him back home.

Long Term Commitment

To be with someone and sponsor that person through immigration in January 2019 was a big decision. I did not hesitate.

Hospital & Quarantine

Almost having died at the airport, and his status of close to death, he was quarantined and so was every person going in to see him. He was in a closed hospital room on a ventilator for weeks.

The winter of 2019..

There was no warning, but there were signs;
There was a future, but then they were doubts;
There was a need to question, but also to understand;
There was perseverance in the end, and then there was light.

An Interview with the Family

I got his nephews to discuss among themselves their viewpoints on this tumultuous experience through dialogue.
I prepared a few questions for them.
